Dr. Francis F. Pitard is a consulting expert in Sampling, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Total Quality Management (TQM). He is President of Francis Pitard Sampling Consultants in Broomfield, Colorado, USA. Dr. Pitard has six years of experience with the French Atomic Energy Commission and fifteen years with Amax Extractive R&D. He teaches Sampling Theory, for the Continuing Education Offices of the Colorado School of Mines. He has a Doctorate in Technologies from Aalborg University in Denmark. He is the author of Theory of Sampling and Sampling Practice (Third Edition 2019).

Certified Metallurgical Engineer, MBA at CENTRUM PUCP, with a Master’s Degree in geometallurgy issued by the National University of San Marcos. Eng. Paredes has more than 15 years of leadership in the mining industry; he has worked in important companies such as Buenaventura, COMARSA, among others. Currently, he is a Plant Superintendent in one of the main Peruvian mining projects.

Cristian Jeraldo is an international consultant and auditor in geometallurgy. Geologist by training from Northern Catholic University, Chile. Cristian holds a MSc in Mining Geology from University of Exeter, England and a degree in Data Science from Lewagin, Berlin, Germany. Cristian has over 15 years of experience in geometallurgy in various types of deposits. He is a specialist in data science applications in geometallurgical modeling for different metallurgical process, both at project level (Scope, PFS, FS) and mining operations.
MARIA SINCHE-GONZALEZ
Is a Senior University Lecturer at the University of Oulu working in the unit of Oulu Mining School. She is a doctor and engineer in Mineral Processing from the University of South Australia and University San Agustin de Arequipa respectively. She has more than twelve years of experience in the mining industry working in several beneficiation plants in companies such as Panamerican Silver in the Quiruvilca and Huaron mines, Trafigura Group in Condestable mine, in Newmont-Yanacocha mine and for BHP Billiton in the Olympic Dam mine - AMIRA Project. Maria is working in research and teaching for 13 years and has worked at the University of South Australia-Ian Wark Institute, at the Technical University of Lulea in Sweden and currently works in research and teaching at the University of Oulu in Finland. Her expertise is in sulphide flotation, metal accounting and modelling and simulation of mineral separation processes, Geometallurgy and develop of beneficiation processes .
JULIO CASTRO
Metallurgical engineer with 8 years in industrial, pilot and laboratory mineral process (gold, copper, molybdenum, lead - iron and zinc) with gained experience in many companies such as Mar Cobre (Ica – Peru), Gold Fields La Cima (Cajamarca – Peru), G&S Laboratory (Trujillo – Peru), Corina Luisa Mine (Trujillo – Peru), Northen Mineral Processing and Marketing (La Libertad – Peru) and Santa Luisa Mine (Huaraz – Peru).
Julio has an Applied Master’s Degree at the Technical University of Oruro, a Master’s Degree in geometallury at San Marcos Major National University and a Diploma Course in metallurgical geo mining at the University of Chile. In addition, he has studied in geochemistry, microscopy characterization of minerals, process simulation, Big Data analysis and modeling of mineral resources.
ANA CAROLINA CHIEREGATI
Ana Carolina is a Mining Engineer from University of São Paulo, has a master and a PhD degree in Mineral Engineering from University of São Paulo, and held a postdoctoral degree in Mine Reconciliation and Sampling at Aalborg University, Denmark. She is a lecturer in the Department of Mining and Petroleum Engineering of University of Sao Paulo, teaching Mineral Exploration, Mine Reconciliation, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, and the Theory and Practice of Sampling. With 16 years of experience in sampling and reconciliation, she has been teaching the Theory and Practice of Sampling and Reconciliation since 2004, both in South America and Australia, published several technical papers and book chapters, and participated in many mining projects in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Honduras, New Caledonia, and Mongolia, most of them related to the optimization of sampling equipment and procedures for reconciliation purposes in gold, zinc, copper, nickel, niobium, iron, phosphate and bauxite mines.

Patricio Valenzuela Fuenzalida is a Metallurgical Civil Engineer from Arturo Prat University, Iquique, Chile. With more than 20 years of experience in oxide and sulfide sampling at Plant. In his career, he has had the responsibility of implementing and maintaining control systems in sampling as well as weighing areas. In addition, he has had to make solutions in sampling system area for developing the sample for metallurgical balances. Lead Auditor in ISO 9001 (2015) at Quality College Santiago. Eng. Patricio Valenzuela holds a Mining Business Management Diploma from the Catholic University of Chile, and a Mining Diploma from Northern Catholic University.
Nowadays, Eng. Patricio Valenzuela is Head of Sampling, Weighing and Chemical Analysis Unit in Codelco Chile – Andina Division. Member of Corporate Quality Committee.

Fernando is a Geologist from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, and has a master in Mineral Engineering from the University of São Paulo. With 10 years of experience in gold and polymetallic deposits, working with Mining Geology, Sampling, Geometallurgy, and Reconciliation. He is currently working at Nexa Resources as Mine Geology Consultant. He implemented and is accountable for the Value Chain Reconciliation in all 5 mines in Brazil and Peru.
GABRIELA CARDOSO
Researcher – Granular Solid Handling and Sampling Laboratory, University of São Paulo, Brazil
Mining engineer and master's student in sampling theory with an emphasis on heterogeneity tests at Universidade de São Paulo. Researcher since 2018, she has worked with gold, bauxite, niobium, iron, zinc, copper and lead ores. In addition, she worked on the sampling and QA/QC steps in the environmental assessments of the dam failure accidents in Mariana and Brumadinho. Nowadays, she is a researcher at the Granular Solid Handling and Sampling Laboratory (LAM-USP).

Chemical Engineer from Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. Has more than 34 years of experience in many different industries such as chemical, mineral, polymers, ink, and metal. Has built his expertise in quality control, process development and sampling. He has started his work on mineral sampling and sample preparation on SGS - Testing & Certification and still working on this in FLSmidth.
He is an active member of Technical Committees in the Iron, Copper, Nickel, and Aluminum mineral industries. Since 2012, he is a member of Brazilian delegation as sampling expert on International Technical Committees of Iron Ore (ISO/TC102), Copper Concentrate (ISO/TC183) and Nickel Concentrate (ISO/TC155) which, in international meetings, the international standards (ISO) for sampling and sample preparation is discussed and revised and/or approved.

Zinanyuca is working at Quellaveco start-up in Moquegua, Peru through Ausenco SAC. He has worked in different positions from the area manager, superintendent and Plant Manager.

Geologist with more than 15 years of experience in open-pit and underground mining operations, he has worked in operational process and equipment management of geology. Eng. Rojas has participated in auditing process and implementation of QAQC protocols in polymetallic, tin and gold mines. Also, he has been in estimation process of mineral resources. He graduated as geologist at Daniel Alcides Carrión National University, in Cerro de Pasco – Peru. He studied a Diploma Course in Geo-Mining-Metallurgy at Mining Engineering Faculty of the University of Chile. He holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Business Management issued by Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).
